Who pays the fare
Reading Freight & Ferry costs nothing and there are no adverts on it. The running costs are meant to be covered by commission from game publishers' partner programmes.
The ticket office
Several transport-game publishers run partner (affiliate) programmes. When a button on one of our reviews carries such a partner link and you sign on with that game after following it, the publisher may pay Freight & Ferry a commission. You pay no extra fare for it.
What money does not move
- Verdicts. Who should board and who should wait on the platform is decided by the route on How we review, not by commission.
- Advice. A game we would tell you to skip stays a skip, with or without a partner link.
- Stops on the map. A game joins the network only by passing the same boarding rules as every other.
- Previews. No publisher sees a review before it is published.
Spotting a partner link
Partner links live only on the official-site buttons of each review. If a button is one, the caption under it begins "Partner link". If the caption says "Direct link to the publisher", there is no partner code in it. For search engines, every one of these buttons is marked as sponsored.
Talking business
Publishers, partner networks and anyone asking about advertising can write to hello@freightandferry.com. We are open to talking about partner links; reviews, verdicts and places on the map are not for sale.
